Roulette is one of the oldest and most popular games played in modern casinos. The Roulette wheels in Europe are numbered 1-36, and have a green zero section. If you play Roulette, the most important thing is to find a casino that offers the European wheel (which is called "Single 0" Roulette) Roulette is a game of pure chance and each single spin is unrelated to any previous spins. If the roulette ball lands in the 0 slot, the game ends and all players receive half their original bets back. The zero and double zero numbers are in green and on opposite sides of the wheel, the colors and odd/even numbers alternate, and the numbers themselves are randomly distributed. - Roulette is of French origin and was first played in New Orleans. Some wheels have only the 0 (no 00), and have about a 2.6% house edge. - Roulette is a game of chance and consists of a Roulette wheel and table. In Roulette the bets are placed on an area of the table marked with separate boxes containing individual numbers. Players are allowed to continue placng their bets during the spin until the dealer says "No more bets". You don't get paid for the win, though, but it's better than losing it outright. When the roulette ball comes to rest in one of the slots, the dealer will call out the winning number and settle all bets. You usually find most tables in Las Vegas with a minimum roulette bet of $1 - $3. In North American roulette, the house enjoys a steady 5.3% advantage. Roulette is not as popular in United States casinos as it is in Europe.   The United States adopted their own version, but the French version is still played time to time in Las Vegas. After the wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. After all bets are placed, the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and tosses the small ball in the opposite direction. The Roulette wheel that is mounted horizontally on the end of the table. All players place their bets. Single numbers pay the highest, while either/or bets are lowest. The French roulette wheel is divided into 37 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 There is no 00. The ball slows and eventually stops in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette wheel. The chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. Only one of those numbers will win, and will pay 35 to 1, so you'll get back $360 (the $350 you won plus your original $10 bet on that number) On an American wheel, there are 38 spots numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00.

The European wheel - also known as the Single Zero roulette or sometimes French Roulette is very similar to the American wheel.
The European wheel has only a single zero while the American one has a single zero and a double zero, and that is main difference between them.
The European table is more beautiful in symmetry while the American table is more practical during play because the red/black and odd/even are placed right next to each other, and the first18/last18 betting spots are placed right next to the single numbers.
Thanks to the single zero the European roulette players have better odds than the American roulette players.
There 38 numbered slots on American roulette wheel: numbers from 0 to 36 and 00. The betting layout contains every individual number and a host of "outside" or combinations of numbers. After the players make their bets the dealer spins the wheel and a ball and after several seconds the ball will land in one of the numbered slots.
