Playing Roulette is easy: Just buy chips, and put your chip(s) on the number(s) you think will win, or on red or black, even or odd, etc. All players place their bets. Also, understand that your odds are the same on every spin. When you get your roulette chips they will not be marked with a denomination, you choose it, and all of the chips will reflect that worth - the dealer keeps track of that by associating the amount and color with a 'lammer'. After all bets are placed, the roulette Dealer spins the wheel in one direction and the ball in the opposite direction. Roulette does not move at a quick pace, it is for a more relaxed crowd than you are likely to find at the craps table. There are two types of Bets in Roulette. The payoff odds for all bets are less than the odds of winning. Roulette is somewhat unique amongst modern table games in that it employs a mechanical device as the key element of the game. Never ever make the 5-number bet. After purchasing the chips from the dealer, the player places them on the desired positions on the table in an attempt to predict where the ball will land after the wheel is spun and the ball comes to a stop. The Roulette wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 00 to 36. Roulette is a unique table game as it has a mechanical device as the main element of the game. An American roulette wheel has an extra slot; 00. A player may bet on an entire row, with a return of 11:1, by placing one or more chips over the edge of the first number in the row, or on two rows at 5:1. Casino players can bet on one, two, three, four or six numbers; or they can choose to bet red or black; high or low; odd or even. (We assume it's offered at the Paris casino, because Roulette comes from France, after all. In Europe, the payoff odds are the same but the 00 is not on the wheel so the house advantage is only 2.7% (that is there are only 37 slots on the wheel) The wheel determines the outcome of a roulette game. After the wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. If you win the second spin, your bet is "released from prison" and you get it back. Don't use dangerous betting systems like the Martingale. - Players make bets by placing chips in various locations on the table. The marked area of Roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen bet. A European roulette wheel has the numbers 1-36, plus a slot for zero. When the wheel slows down and the ball drops into one of the numbered slots, the dealer places a marker on the winning number on the Roulette table. The roulette chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. Roulette is not as popular in United States casinos as it is in Europe. Only one of those numbers will win, and will pay 35 to 1, so you'll get back $360 (the $350 you won plus your original $10 bet on that number) Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. It is played in virtually every gambling house in North and South America and in Europe, where it is even more popular. And it's so easy to play! Roulette is a fast moving, simple and exciting game offering many different types of bets and payoffs. You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table. The last time we checked, Single 0 Roulette was available at the Stratosphere and the Monte Carlo on the Vegas Strip. Due to its variety of combinations and bets it might seem difficult to understand. Just pick a number and spin the ball.

One subject that always comes up when people discuss winning at roulette or getting an edge is biased roulette wheels. To really find a bias in a wheel, you'd need to clock at least 4000 spins before determining a real pattern, and you won't find a bias towards red or black. At best you'll find a bias toward a specific set of numbers.
Casinos don't want a biased wheel, because the house edge at roulette relies on the odds being 37 to 1. If certain individual numbers pay out more often than they should, the casino loses money. Casinos don't really have an interest in fixing any of their games since the house edge is in their favor on all of them. If you are able to find a biased wheel, you should bet individual numbers as much as you can. If you're in a rare situation where you have an advantage over the casino, you don't want to waste it on bets with low payouts.
Something related to wheel bias but that isn't exactly the same thing is dealer signature. Some roulette dealers have been spinning the ball for so long that they do it in exactly the same manner. This produces a situation where some numbers might come up more often than other numbers.
Usually if you're looking for this type of advantage play it's best to find an older dealer who looks really bored. You don't want someone who's really young and just learning how to spin the wheel. You want someone who's spun it so many times that it's become automatic and predictable.
Since it would take about 4000 spins to determine with any degree of certainty any patterns on a roulette wheel, it would take a considerable amount of time to track that many spins. Maybe 100 hours or more. You might be better off learning to count cards or play poker really well instead of trying to get an advantage finding a biased wheel or a dealer with a signature.
