After all bets are placed, the Dealer spins the wheel in one direction and the ball in the opposite direction. The roulette wheel consists 38 compartments with numbers from 1 to 36, which are colored black and red, and two green compartments with 0 and 00. The wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 0 to 36 - and 00 in American Style Roulette. Even if you play it safe and bet red/black or even/odd, casino roulette is a lot of fun. Today, Roulette continues to be one of the most popular classic casino games, especially in Europe. The zero and double zero numbers are in green and on opposite sides of the wheel, the colors and odd/even numbers alternate, and the numbers themselves are randomly distributed. After purchasing the chips from the dealer, the player places them on the desired positions on the table in an attempt to predict where the ball will land after the wheel is spun and the ball comes to a stop. It is played in virtually every gambling house in North and South America and in Europe, where it is even more popular. The roulette wheel consists of slots or “pockets” numbered from 1 to 36, which are either red or black. Wait til the dealer says "place your bets" before putting any roulette chips down for the next round. The wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 0 to 36 - and 00 in American Style Roulette. Roulette is a banking game: all bets are placed against the house. Wait til the dealer says "place your bets" before putting any chips down for the next round. There are two types of Bets in Roulette. You could place five 1 dollar bets on five completely different inside bets (specific numbers or combinations of numbers) The ball then comes to rest on one number – the winning number for the spin. Some wheels have only the 0 (no 00), and have about a 2.6% house edge. " You may then place bets on the next spin until the Dealer announces "No more bets". Bets outside this grid, like for example a bet on RED, would be an outside bet. Roulette uses a special wheel, a betting layout, and chips. Most casinos have 00 on their wheels to increase the odds to their advantage (American Roulette) - Roulette is a glamorous and exciting game that's easy to play. When you are at the point that you want to place your bet, do not be concerned about someone else having already taken your bet - chips can share bets thanks to the colors. All players place their bets. When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier. All roulette players place their bets. After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets". The roulette ball falls into one of the wheel's numbered compartments which determines the winning number. If you’re feeling lucky, you can pack in plenty of casino play at a roulette wheel in a short time. Every player has different colored chips for easier identifying. Roulette players make bets by placing chips in various locations on the table. The marked area is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozens bet. The green slots (zero) in roulette are where casinos make their money. Numbers 1-18 are considered the lows numbers, 19-36 are the highs. (If you don't believe me start flipping a coin and notice that after three heads, you're equally likely to get heads as tails on the next flip. Only one of those numbers will win, and will pay 35 to 1, so you'll get back $360 (the $350 you won plus your original $10 bet on that number)

In some casinos there exist some special rules.
In Prison/En prison
When the ball falls on zero, red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets will not be collected by the croupier - instead they will have to stay on the table - in other words they are in prison. In the next spin the players have a chance of winning their original bet back - if their bet wins they will get their original bet back but with no additional win. If the ball should land on zero once again the bets will remain in prison one more spin and so on. As this special rule reduced the casinos edge, it's greatly to the advantage for the players.
La Partage
In case the ball stops at zero slot, the croupier will not fully collect red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets. The croupier will collect only a half of player's bets and will return the rest to the players. La Partage rule reduces the casinos edge to 1. 35 percent as well as In Prison rule.
