When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier. The roulette wheel consists of slots or pockets numbered from 1 to 36, which are either red or black. Outside bet options include betting red, black, even, odd, low, high or selected thirds of numbers. European games have an option called en prison which reduces the house edge to 1.35%, but it's generally not available in the U.S., even in casinos that use the European wheel. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. On an American wheel, there are 38 spots numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00. Every roulette player has different colored chips for easier identifying. Most roulette wheels have a 0 and a 00, and have a 5.3% house edge. Roulette has a significant house edge. Roulette is one of the oldest and most popular games played in modern casinos. A player may bet on an entire row, with a return of 11:1, by placing one or more chips over the edge of the first number in the row, or on two rows at 5:1. However, if the dreaded 00 is spun, the House (the casino) keeps all the bets. There are 2 types of roulette, American and French (aka European roulette) Roulette is played on a table featuring a betting area and the roulette wheel. Spinning a ball on a round wheel is the main feature of the game of Roulette. The wheel has thirty-seven numbered slots. The spinning ball lands in one of the numbered pockets after the wheel stops. The player is to predict the number of the pocket in which the ball will land. If you predict the number of the section in which the ball stops, you win. The size of your winning depends on how the bet was placed.
