Roulette is the third biggest Casino game in the world. There are two versions of Roulette: the European and the American Roulette. Let's focus on the American version. The American double zero increases the house edge on American roulette tables. Roulette payouts are not pot luck or simple jackpot wins, they vary depending on what was wagered in the first place and where the chip is placed. Straight bets yield the highest payouts. A straight bet is picking up one number to bet. You can choose zero or double zero. The payout is 35 to 1, meaning if you wagered you would get a nice 0 back. It's so high because you obviously have a one in 38 chance of winning. You can choose this bet on its own if you have cash to burn. You can increase your chances but get a high payout (at least where roulette payouts are concerned) by splitting your bet. This means placing your chip between two numbers on the board. If it lands on either of these numbers you get a 17 to 1 payout. You can also use corner bets (where all four corners of each number meet) - yielding an 8 to 1 payout. You can use different combinations for more secure bets. Perhaps the easiest method and at times the most rewarding (in the long run) is to simply bet on a color red or black. However this gives a low payout, which is even to how much you wagered. For instance if you bet and win, you get your back with an extra . Identical to this is the odd and even bet. Simply bet on whether the ball will land on an odd or even number. You don't have to decide the exact number it lands on though. High bets are between 1 and 18, and low bets are between 19 and 36. A winning bet would simply grant a payout of 1 to 1. Of course these payouts can alter as you use different combinations at once - but then you greatly decrease your odds of winning at all. The simplest method as outlined above is to bet on odd or even and red or black. Combine this with the Martingale system and you will eventually always be in the positive. It just depends on how big your bank balance is and if it can take a huge losing streak, or adhere to the maximum bet limit whilst taking a loss. So the bets to avoid are probably all single number bets and the five number bet because these types of bets have the largest disparity between true odds and actual payouts.

In American roulette the addition of the 00 section greatly increases the odds in favor of the house. The ball slows and eventually stops in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette
wheel. The bank pays or collects from each
bettor. The roulette wheel consists 38 compartments with numbers from 1 to 36, which are colored black and red, and two green compartments with 0 and 00. One of the thing you should know is how the
table minimum works. When I was learning about gambling, the first thing I did was to buy and read the book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Gambling Like a Pro. The marked area of Roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any
4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen bet. Roulette is not as popular in United States casinos as it is in Europe. Each Player has a different colored set of non-value Roulette chips, determined by his/her purchase. Traditionally roulette has been played in regular offline casinos. The wheel is divided
into 38 (American) or 37 (European) sections, each of which has walls to hold a
small ball where it lands after the wheel is spun. Most casinos have 00 on their roulette wheels to increase the odds to their advantage (American Roulette) After
all bets are placed, the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and tosses
the small ball in the opposite direction. The winning number is marked
by the Dealer. Roulette is the most classic casino game of all. Consider playing low-edge games like Baccarat, Blackjack, or Craps instead. Roulette is a very easy to learn and really exciting game. When you get your roulette chips
they will not be marked with a denomination, you choose it, and all of the chips
will reflect that worth - the dealer keeps track of that by associating the
amount and color with a 'lammer') In Europe, the payoff odds are the same but the 00 is not on the wheel so the house advantage is only 2.7% (that is there are only 37 slots on the wheel) Roulette players often choose the bets they like to make and stick with them for a series of spins. The marked area of roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen
bet. Each player is assigned different color of chip,
allowing the dealer differentiate bets and match them to the right players. In Roulette the bets are placed on an area of the
table marked with separate boxes containing individual numbers. In effect, this variation has the ability to turn a loss into a tie. When the ball comes to rest in one of
the slots, the dealer will call out the winning number and settle all
bets. When the ball on the wheel comes to rest position after spinning the wheel the number and colour are read. In American roulette the addition of the 00
section greatly increases the odds in favor of the house. The sections are numbered
from 1 to 36, (half red and half black, half odd and half even) plus a green
section marked 0. If you play black-red, odd/even or high-low, you must place the
table minimum for each & every bet. Roulette is a fast moving, simple and exciting game offering many different types of bets and payoffs. One of the thing you should know about roulette is how the table minimum works. Roulette chips have no value at
other tables. The standard American casino roulette wheel contains two green slots: 0 and 00 (many European wheels eliminate the 00, which creates more favorable odds for players) the bad odds do mean you're less likely to walk away a winner than if you'd played one of the other games instead. The wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 0 to 36 - and 00
in American Style Roulette. On an American wheel, there are 38 spots numbers 1-36, plus 0 and 00. Before you get confused,
standard American roulette rules have the table use different chips than other table games at the same casino.

One subject that always comes up when people discuss winning at roulette is biased roulette wheels. To really find a bias in a wheel, you'd need to clock at least 4000 spins before determining a real pattern, and realistically speaking, you won't find a bias towards red or black. At best you'll find a bias toward a specific set of numbers. Casinos don't want a biased wheel, because the house edge at roulette relies on the odds being 37 to 1. If certain individual numbers pay out more often than they should, the casino loses money. In this respect, a biased wheel isn't like a fixed game of blackjack. Casinos don't really have an interest in fixing any of their games since the house edge is in their favor on all of them. If you are able to find a biased wheel, you should bet individual numbers as much as you can. If you're in a rare situation where you have an advantage over the casino, you don't want to waste it on bets with low payouts. Something related to wheel bias but that isn't exactly the same thing is dealer signature. Some roulette dealers have been spinning the ball for so long that they do it in exactly the same manner and at exactly the same speed every time. This produces a situation where some numbers might come up more often than other numbers. Usually if you're looking for this type of advantage play it's best to find an older dealer who looks really bored. You don't want someone who's really young and just learning how to spin the wheel. You want someone who's spun it so many times that it's become automatic and predictable. Since it would take about 4000 spins to determine with any degree of certainty any patterns on a roulette wheel, it would take a considerable amount of time to track that many spins. You might be better off learning to count cards or play poker really well instead of trying to get an advantage finding a biased wheel or a dealer with a signature.
