Players make bets on the numbers, on which they think the spinning ball will stop. You win if you have predicted the number right. Before playing the game each player has to select the current bet unit. To make a bet you have to click on the betting unit, which you can find in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Place your mouse cursor over the number that you want to wager on and click on it to place your bet. You can bet on as many numbers as you like, provided you have enough money in your player's bank to make the bet. There are several types of bets available in Roulette. Inside Bets. Winning bets are determined by the numbered slot in which the ball comes to rest. European wheels have only the 0 green section. Players often choose the bets they like to make and stick with them for a series of spins. Most roulette wheels have a 0 and a 00, and have a 5.3% house edge. Unlike other casino games, roulette rounds go by quickly - just a spin of the wheel and the game is over. After the roulette wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. The ball then comes to rest on one number – the winning number for the spin. The larges payoff odds, 35:1, are on bets on a single number. By the way, I want to take a moment to point out that this tidbit above about even money bets in Atlantic City is just one of the many fabulous bonuses you learn about for free on this site, which you might not find out about from books that actually cost money. - The term "Roulette" is derived from a French word meaning small wheel. Single numbers pay the highest, while either/or bets are lowest. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. European roulette) Don't use dangerous betting systems like the Martingale. The wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 0 to 36 - and 00 in American Style Roulette. Although the Single Zero wheel gives better odds, even with a 00 wheel and $5 bets you'll lose less money than on a 5-coin nickel slot machine. Once the bets are placed on the table, a small ball is released on to the spinning Roulette wheel, in the opposite direction to the spin. After all bets are placed, the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and tosses the small ball in the opposite direction. Don't be fooled into thinking that any number or color is "due". American wheels have two green sections marked 00. You can place bets until the ball leaves the track and falls onto the spun wheel. Never ever make the 5-number bet. When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you  The dealer will take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier. If you really want to use a betting system, check out some more conservative systems.   The only difference is that the American version has a single zero and a double zero versus the French version with just a single zero. Roulette is somewhat unique amongst modern table games in that it employs a mechanical device as the key element of the game. Roulette is played on a table featuring a betting area and the roulette wheel. The payoff odds for all bets are less than the odds of winning. The winning number is marked by the Dealer. However, if the dreaded 00 is spun, the House (the casino) keeps all the bets. On even money bets when 0 comes up, instead of losing right away, your bet is "imprisoned" and rides again for the next spin. The ball slows and eventually stops in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette wheel. Roulette is not as popular in United States casinos as it is in Europe. Roulette is a game of chance, and there is no way of cheating at roulette to increase the odds in your favour. The marked area of Roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen bet. The last time we checked (12-00), single Roulette was available at the Stratosphere and Monte Carlo (and probably Paris) When you get your roulette chips they will not be marked with a denomination, you choose it, and all of the chips will reflect that worth - the dealer keeps track of that by associating the amount and color with a 'lammer'.

We can find special rules for some casinos.
In Prison/En prison
When the ball falls on zero, red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets will not be collected by the croupier - instead they will have to stay on the table - in other words they are in prison. The players can win their original bet back during the next spin;if their bet wins they get their original bets back without additional gain. If the ball should land on zero once again the bets will remain in prison one more spin and so on. In prison rule is a considerable advantage for players because the house edge is reduced to 1. 35 percent.
La Partage
In case the ball stops at zero slot, the croupier will not fully collect red/black, odd/even and first half/last half bets. Only half of the players’ bets will be collected - the rest will be returned to the players. La Partage rule reduces the casinos edge to 1. 35 percent as well as In Prison rule.
