The whole thing weighs upwards of a hundred pounds, at nearly 3 feet in diameter. The numbers 1 through 36 are divided evenly among red and black "pockets". The ball will land in one of the pockets. In addition to the 36 red and black pockets, there are either 1 or 2 green pockets, containing the number zero and double zero (00) on the roulette wheel. The numbers are not distributed in a random fashion. A balance between red and black, high and low, and odd and even is sought by the wheel makers. For every number on the wheel, directly across from it is the next highest even number. Black and red alternate, pairs of even numbers alternate with pairs of odd numbers (with 0 and 00 exceptions). This roulette wheel design is standard within the industry. A roulette dealer (usually referred to as "croupier") spins the wheel counterclockwise and releases what is usually a plastic ball along the track that runs along the top of the wheel's cavity. As the wheel loses velocity the ball is pulled down off of the track and bounces around until it settles into a pocket. There are a million small buffers and bumps to ensure that the ball is tossed around a good bit randomly before it finds a home.

When you get your roulette chips they will not be marked with a denomination, you choose it, and all of the chips will reflect that worth - the dealer keeps track
of that by associating the amount and color with a 'lammer'. The ball will lose speed and
eventually stop in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette wheel. In Roulette the bets are placed on an area of the
table marked with separate boxes containing individual numbers. The roulette chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not
bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. European wheels have only the 0 green section. -
Next to Blackjack, Roulette is one of the most popular games played in modern
Casinos. A croupier conducts land based casino's. The outcome of a game of Roulette is determined by where the ball stops on the Roulette wheel. A European roulette wheel has the numbers 1-36, plus a slot for zero. There are two types of Bets in Roulette. Each Player has a different colored set of non-value
Roulette chips, determined by his/her purchase. The last time we checked (12-00), single Roulette was available at the Stratosphere and Monte Carlo (and probably Paris) European roulette) After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your
bets". The players who bet on the winning number or color are rewarded while the
players who bet on the losing number(s) lose their chips to the casino. In Roulette the bets
are placed on an area of the table marked with separate boxes, with each box
containing individual numbers. Roulette is not as
popular in United States casinos as it is in Europe. The number
the ball stops on is the winning number. Also, understand that your odds are the same on every spin. A huge attraction at casinos
across the country, the classic roulette wheel remains one of the most exciting
casino games available. Once the bets have been placed on the table, the wheel is set to start spinning
and a small - usually metal or ivory - ball is spun onto the wheel in the
opposite direction to that of the spinning wheel. Most casinos have 00 on their roulette wheels to increase the odds to their advantage (American Roulette) European Roulette Wheel: The European Roulette Wheel contains 37 numbers
including 0 and 1 to 36 Having one zero (0) gives the house a 2.70% advantage. The larges payoff odds, 35:1, are on bets on a single number. Four number bets, made at crosses (touching the grid on four locations), are worth 8:1. You don't get paid for the win, though, but it's better than losing it outright. The ball slows and eventually stops in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette
wheel. The United States adopted their own version of roulette, but the French version is still played time to time in Las Vegas. The wheel has numbered pockets ranging from 0 to 36 - and 00
in American Style Roulette. The winning roulette number is marked by the Dealer. However, if the dreaded 00 is spun, the House (the casino)
keeps all the bets. When the ball comes to rest in one of
the slots, the dealer will call out the winning number and settle all
bets. Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. Roulette chips have no value at
other tables. After all bets are placed, the roulette Dealer spins the wheel in one direction and the
ball in the opposite direction. Don't be fooled into thinking that any number or color is "due". Roulette is one of the oldest and most popular games played in modern casinos. If you play black-red, odd/even or high-low,
you must place the roulette table minimum for each and every bet.
