American Roulette Rules. Roulette is a wheel game. The wheel of the roulette is spinned on an axis which is placed in a bowl. The wheel is divided into slots: American roulette wheel into 38, European - into 37. The numbers are either red or black. The 0 or 00 are green. 8 players can participate the game at the same time. Accordind to the rules the croupier spins the wheel of roulette in one direction and then rolls the ball around the edge of the wheel in the opposite direction. When the ball stops and falls at one of the slots the croupier announces the winners. You are to guess the number of the slot in which the ball will stop and to make the right bet. When you first sit down at a roulette table, you'll need to buy chips from the croupier, and roulette chips are almost always different from all other chips in the casino. Each player is assigned his own color of chips so that the croupier knows who to pay off at the end of each spin. A player is allowed to bet until the croupier announces, "No more bets. "After the result of the spin is determined, the croupier puts a marker on top of the winning number on the table. If there are bets on that number,the marker is placed on top of the chips. The croupier sweeps off the table all losing bets and pays off the winning bets.
